Build the Portfolio You Need.
Portfolio Development provides individualized guidance for artists and theatrical designers who are preparing a portfolio for college or program applications, competitions, International Thespian events, internships, exhibitions, or other artistic opportunities.
Unlike a one-time Portfolio Review, Portfolio Development is an ongoing Private Study. Students work individually with an instructor to identify the requirements and goals of their portfolio, evaluate their existing work, determine what may be missing, and develop a plan for strengthening the overall body of work.
Sessions may include:
Reviewing portfolio or submission requirements
Evaluating existing work
Identifying strengths and gaps
Selecting pieces for inclusion
Planning new portfolio pieces
Developing sketches, studies, or concepts
Receiving instruction while creating new work
Revising and refining existing pieces
Strengthening technical skills where needed
Documenting artistic or design process
Organizing and sequencing the portfolio
Preparing presentation or design boards
Developing technical theatre portfolio materials
Preparing work for digital presentation or submission
Final portfolio review and refinement
*In-person Portfolio Development is $50 per hour. Standard studio materials used during instruction are included. Specialized materials, portfolio presentation materials, printing, or supplies required for an individual student's portfolio are not included.
